Built in 1853, the Melbourne Cricket Ground (MCG) is the largest stadium in the southern hemisphere and the 10th largest in the world with a capacity of over 100,000. It is a stadium steeped in history and the scene of some of the most memorable moments in Australian sport. Apart from Lord’s, the MCG is the only stadium in the world to have hosted the final of the ICC Cricket World Cup more than once (1992 and 2015). The MCG will come alive when the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup is hosted for the first time from Monday 22 October to Sunday 13 November. Australia, India, Pakistan, England, New Zealand and Afghanistan will play four Super 12 matches in Melbourne and the final on November 13.
Steeped in sporting history, the Sydney Cricket Ground has been providing plenty of entertainment for over 150 years. The SCG was founded by the NSW Cricket Association on the former 1852 garrison grounds behind Paddington’s Victoria Barracks. Today, the SCG is recognized as one of the world’s premier cricket venues, home to the annual New Year’s Test, one-day internationals and the Sydney Sixers in the BBL. The SCG will come alive when it hosts the ICC Men’s T20 World Cup for the first time from Saturday 22 October to Wednesday 9 November. Bellerive Oval first hosted formal cricket matches in 1914, but it was not until 1987 that Cricket Tasmania made the ground its permanent home. The oval has undergone significant improvements since the opening of the Ricky Ponting Stand for the ICC Men’s Cricket World Cup in 2015, increasing the ground’s capacity to 20,000. Bellerive Oval will come alive when the ICC hosts the Men’s T20 World Cup. For the first time between Monday 17th October and Monday 24th October. Bangladesh, Ireland, Scotland, South Africa, West Indies and Zimbabwe will host 6 opening rounds of three-day T20 cricket and 3 Super 12 matches in Hobart.

Having hosted the men’s lone T20I in February 2017 and only nine T20s since 2009, Cardinia Park in Geelong, also known as Symonds Stadium, will be one of two hosts for the first-round matches.
Kardinia Park will host the first match – between Sri Lanka and Namibia – on October 16, followed by the UAE vs Netherlands match on the same day. A total of six matches of the first round will be played here over three days.
