By India Today Sports Desk: Adam Zampa says he has had his fair share of challenges while bowling spin in India. The leg-spinner is currently playing for Rajasthan Royals (RR) in the 2023 edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) and has taken five wickets at an economy rate of 8.81 from three games.

Zampa said the Australian pitches gave more bounce compared to India. Furthermore, he said that life is easier for spinners in Australia because the grounds are bigger. Zampa expressed his views while talking to Ravi Ashwin in an interview after the match between Royals and Chennai Super Kings (CSK) at the Sawai Mansingh Stadium.

“It’s always a bit different in these conditions. It’s obviously good to talk to you (Ashwin) and Yuzi about these conditions. That’s it. How about it,” Zampa said.

“Maybe in Australia actually. There was more bounce and the grounds were big, and I had a lot of bowling there. We are halfway through the IPL and we have hit almost 600 sixes so far, so it is not a fun place to bowl,” he said.

“In Australia, I always felt that top spin and top of the bat, especially in T20 cricket, can get you wickets. Here, it is a bit difficult because there is not much bounce. Maybe you should think about hanging the ball off the bat,” added Zampa.

Zampa is an effective spinner in T20 cricket, taking 274 wickets in 235 matches at an economy rate of 7.31. He also has six wickets to his name which he took while playing for the defunct Rising Pune Super Giants in the IPL.
